HP 245 G8 Notebook PC (33L20AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

Looking to upgrade my laptop memory to its maximum.

The issue I have is that Windows  reports that I can have 32Gb when i use

wmic memphysical get maxcapacity

it's report 33554432

Which I would imagine is in two 16Gb stick setup.

My worry is that the generic documentation for the laptop shows that I can only have a maximum of 16 in two 8Gb sticks.

Hi:

If your notebook has the AMD Ryzen5 5500U processor, I don't see any reason why 2 x 16 GB of memory wouldn't work.

I'd use at the 245 G9 manual as a reference for memory because the 245 G8 manual doesn't even list your notebook's processor.

At least the 245 G9 has some Ryzen 5xxx series processors listed.
