currently my internal  wifi adapter card was RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n and i want to upgrade to 5ghz dual wifi adpter for faster internet .is  it possible for upgrade are not let me know.mother board model HP 84A6 80.47 . BIOS: Insyde F.30

My laptop Model Was 15q-ds0xxx

Hi:

 

Since your notebook only has one wifi antenna, you can upgrade to this dual band AC wifi card...

 

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

 

You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express.  I seen an Intel card listed as the first one on the eBay listing, so don't buy that one.

The card will have the same 72 MBPS throughput as the original wifi card on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band, it will have a max throughput of 433 MBPS when you have an AC router with an excellent wifi signal strength.

Thanks for reply since mine has single antenna, when I upgrade to Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005 is it have single antenna are I should have to add 1 more antenna to it.

HP part # L17365-005 works with just one antenna wire. You can see what the card looks like from one of the eBay listings...note that there is just one terminal to connect the antenna to, just like the RTL8723DE.

Adding a second antenna to install a different model dual band AC card, would require the complete disassembly of the notebook including the display panel area to properly route the second antenna wire.

 

You would also have to order the antenna kit listed in chapter 3 of the service manual, and that may not be so easy to find.
