hello,
will share quickly, as need to run.
some photos, of inside of my HP laptop.
as you can see, there is no clear sign on where the CMOS battery is.... is was expecting to see a little round CR2032 battery i could change (as is indicated in the manual for my laptop series).. but it's not there.
so, i have the battery, just not sure where or how to find it and replace.
any advice appreciated.
and here's a photo of the main battery i took out last night!
glad it didnt explode! i waited too long... and my touchpad works again, without this thing pushing on it!
delights. thanks for the support team.
regards
cliff

When you install the new battery and set the date/time, the error message should go away.
It is highly recommended to purchase and install only Genuine HP part numbered batteries. "Compatible" batteries have been known to not always operate as expected.

The battery description and HP Part number
Battery (4 cell, 70 Wh, 4.55 Ah) 920070-855
Battery (3 cell, 41 Wh) L11119-855
When you search for the new battery use genuino HP L11119-855 as the keywords.
Amazon.es does not appear to have a genuine HP battery for sale.
I did find genuine batteries in the Google.es search engine

Quite a few years ago, HP and other manufacturers started using current from the main battery to power the BIOS non-volatile ram chip.
There is no RTC, or button battery in your laptop for the BIOS.

ok. thanks for the clarity with this erico.. was surprised to not see a little disc battery when opened it up yesterday, but makes sense now... so u expect the manual i have could be updated it seems..
so, if i'm currently not using a mains battery (due to not having ordered yet, after realising how dead/expanded/about to explode it was... ), how will my BIOS get its power? can it still get it from the mains power cable, which is powering my laptop?
and possibly when i change/get new battery, it will resolve the error msg i get when boot up my laptop, saying 'CMOS error or something'? i assume so.
doesn't seem to be an issue so far, using without battery.. i wonder if it's ok for week or two or more?
will explore my options online for getting a battery for my laptop: HP 14-BP076SA.
wonder the most reliable way to find what i need?
will try just entering my laptop model and new battery into amazon... but want to be sure it will work well.
thanks for the support.
