HELP. I can't get top off my laptop in order to replace HHD with SSD. Won't loosen on left hinge.

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure...

You do not remove the top of the laptop to get to the hard drive.

 

You remove the battery, optical drive, and the bottom cover.   See chapter 6 of the manual...
