G50

I bought a used laptop on eBay.

It is a G50-126NR

I can't find any information about this laptop.

I searched using the serial number and part number and I get nothing.

Any ideas?

Look on the bottom for a label and post the full Model # (or ID) and post it here. We can get the manuals for you. You can too with the Model #

That looks like it is for a G56 not a G50, although probably similar.

Yeah, I already regret buying it since it appears to be more like 15 years old and came with Vista. Sigh.

I am trying to find the manual to see if I can upgrade the RAM from 3GB to at least 4GB.

This what you are looking for? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-laptop-with-intel-pentium-dual-core-processor-t3400/9197193.p?skuId=... Looks like a Core 2. Drop in 8GB memory and a cheap SATA ssd be an OK web browsing machine. I've fixed up several similar for that task

Yes, that is the one. Unfortunately, I don't have any 8GB DDR2 memory around.

The bigger issue is that it looks like it came with Vista.

I will most likely install CloudReady on it and hope that it works.

Good choice because of the low overhead of that OS. Cheap SATA 3 2.5" drive will make it feel pretty peppy!

Thank you all.

It looks like there are two RAM slots accessible on the bottom side of the laptop.
