I have the hp envy x360 laptop which comes with a SD card slot. I have been trying to insert the SanDisk 256 GB micro-SD card. When I force the card in, I hear the click sound and the laptop reads it fine, but I have to continue holding since as soon as I release it the SD card pops back out. How do I fix this?

This is a defect, either the Envy cannot latch the card or the card has a physical defect keeping it from latching.

Try another card.  If the same problem check your warranty and decide if you want it fixed or not.  If you return the Envy for warranty service be sure to tell them to use the original drive .  You may end up with a refurbished replacement and be missing all your data.

Alternately get a USB to SD adapter.  They do not support the "spring" eject and (usually) have a better grip on the card.

get a combo like this
