cannot insert sd card into card reader

Cannot insert SD cards into card reader to read/write data. Yet I can insert a adapter with a micro sd to read/write data. Had no reason to use the reader till recent to find the problem.

The laptop is 9mths old from a major high street store.

Should I take the laptop to the store for repairs or approach HP for the repairs.

What is the error ? It has standard SD card reader that means mean you can use SD or SDHC and SDXC cards. You cal also use microSD cards but you need an adapter.

You are saying "Yet I can insert a adapter with a micro sd to read/write data". Physically it is the same size of standard cards. Please check its lock.

I cannot physically insert any standard card fully home to engage the contacts.

A Sd to micro sd adapter will fit with no problem.

But if you look carefully at the ends of a sd card and adapter there are slight differences around the contacts.

My location being UK.

I have spent an hour or so trying to get to HP to create a case going round in circles from page to page and back where I started.

Anyone got a link I could use to contact anyone about my laptop with its problem under warranty.
