i have a probook 4540s, win10 64. After i did windows maintenance and clean up all was working fine. The next day the touchpad was not working. It seems as if the touchpad device is not picked up. I tried several drivers etc. She also said the bluetooth never worked, but it is working now. I doubt a touchpad can just break without reason?
Any help will be appreciated. I have even inserted new hdd and re-installed win10 but did not work either

So the maintenance was all software and you did not open the laptop? Very easy to forget to plug the touchpad ribbon back in after opening it up. Done it myself more than a couple times. But if all you did was software and the touchpad is not detected in device manager I will have to say its a weird coincidence but very likely the Touchpad has gone belly up. Unfortunately the touchpad is embedded in the top cover, but on a 10 year old laptop it should be possible to find the part for not too much money.
See p. 82...not an easy task, sorry to say
