New HP Envy 15t running Windows 10, X3000 wireless mouse.   I am left handed and keep resetting mouse primary button from L to R.  At restart, settings default back to primary L button.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled driver, USB dongle.  Please advise.

@BPH1 Welcome to HP Community!

  • Have you tried with different computers and checked?
  • Is it working fine before?
  • Have you made any changes to the computer?

 Please try to create new user account and check for the issue.

Please run the DISM tool and check.

DISM tool is another command-line tool available in Windows computers. You can fix various corrupted system files with the help of this simple and free tool.

To run DISM, open Command Prompt with administrator privilege and enter this command: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

It will take a few minutes to check everything and try to fix the problem automatically. Do not close the window if it is taking a long time.
