Hi just a simple question.
My son and I HP pavillion laptops. Recently my charger stopped working without any warning. I think he may have switched them.
Is there any way to pair a charging cable to the original laptop????
Thank you,

No idea where to find model number.
Sorry I read as "serial number" - my bad.
Yes I think he swapped but I suppose it's the same outcome whatever and we have to share a charger.
Thanks for your help.

Not specifically as for example if there are two laptops of the same model and 2 identical AC adapters, but if there are two different model laptops the chargers likely have different part numbers. So if we could have the model number of the two laptops and the HP Part number of the charger we could determine which laptop it was originally associated with.
The part number will be on the brick and usually comes after Replace with HP Spare...

Thank you so much for your fast response.
My laptop S/N [removed] - charger part no 740015-002
Sons laptop S/N [removed] - charger part number 854054-003
Hopefully I've got them right - tiny writing and poor eyesight! 🙂

The Mods jumped right on it. I do not need the serial number of the laptops but the model numbers.
So if you know the charger part numbers associated with each laptop where is the question? I thought you suspected your son of swapping out adapters to have the one that works and leaving you with the dud?
