Unless you happen to be an electronics engineer/technician or an electronics enthusiast with the skills to troubleshoot SMD devices and chips on the system-board, it would be better to source a new notebook.

At five years, the notebook is a bit on the obsolete side.

Does the notebook charge to 100% when it is turned off and connected to the power adapter?

The power LED should change color to amber to indicate that it is charging.

If it does not, that means there is either an issue with the charging circuitry on the system board or you may have inadvertently damaged a component or connector when you swapped out the old battery.

Get a magnifying glass and flashlight and check the header on the system board where the battery connector plugs in. You might find damage there.

Hi Bob,

That indicates to me that the charging circuit on the system board has issues or the connection between the battery and the systemboard might be loose or only partially made.
