Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to clone my 1 TB hdd to a new Crucial 500 MB ssd using Acronis True Image for Crucial. The process proceeds OK right to the very last couple minutes and then fails. The message just says "can't complete the process." Any help would be appreciated.

You know 1TB is greater than 500GB  don't you ? Please check the software to make sure you do not want to clone the whole 1TB to 500GB. This is not going to work.

The Acronis software is supposed to proportion the partitions from the hdd to the smaller ssd. I only have 88 GB on the hdd. It should fit easily on the smaller ssd.

Crucial said the restore partition may be locked and hanging up the final completion of the cloning. How can I unlock that partition to see if that allows cloning to finish?
