Product: Compaq nx9600

  I am working oon a deakstop Compaq nx9600 (That is what the label attached to the machine), and has a service tag of Cnx9600SP560H710XGg10Pa.  The serial number is: CNF52724GP.  What I would like to know is: Who made the built-in video card and what is the model number?

The Compaq nx9600 is a notebook PC, not a desktop

 

 

If you have access to the machine and it is bootable you can get that information from the Device Manager in Windows.

 

 

  • PCI Express x16 - ATI Mobility Radeon X600

ATI is now owned by AMD.

Thank you for the information.  But this is a dektop/tower system.  Since it was bought used it is possible someone just stuck the stickers on it for whatever reason.  I will see what I can gather from the motherboard.

By the way, Windows XP was on it and was replaced by openSuSE Leap 42.1.

Yes, not the same machine!  The motherboard is an HP as well as the desktop/tower case.  The label on the motherboard states: SP# 461537-001 PARM80jP1XA6GB  AS#450725-004  DG# 450726-000 PRODUCT OF CHINA REV 0J

With Linux I did find that it is a Radeon 3100 so everything is good.  Thank you for the help!

That motherboard is identified as being in a dc5850 Business PC.
