Microsoft Windows XP

01-25-2009 07:37 AM. My Presario 2195US does not have a diskette drive, but the HP website only gives instructions. for downloading software that creates a bootable diskette to update the BIOS. Is there another. way to update the BIOS in my laptop? Apparently most of the other laptops in the 2100 series. do have a diskette drive but mine does not.

I believe there is a Winflash Utility available for download which would allow you to run the update from within Windows. You can also format a usb memory stick as floppy emulation and use that but Winflash is likely more reliable. HP no longer will have support easily accessible for this which complicates matters a bit.
