laptop was shutting off after a few minutes very suddenly without warning.
suspected the battery so had the battery replaced but still doing it.
does it while in windows or while in bios or doing diagnosis.
so i suspect a hardware problem.
when in bios i looked in "system log" has an event "0607" logged each time this happens.
more searching suggested page saying:
Battery Low Temperature Alert (607) Occurs
my model is not listed on the page.
but i did update bios to ver 26, but problem still occurs. maybe mine needs this suggested patch?
how do i get it?
thanks

this is the link to the referenced error 607 mentioned above:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c07008449
notice the firmware patch mentioned for several models, just not mine sadly...
laptop will run for 2 to 10 minutes when plugged in, not plugged in, battery full, battery near empty
and room temperature. it just suddenly dies, power off no warning.
only indication is the "0607" error found in the system log in the bios
