Hi
so my laptop randomly shuts off without any warning whatsoever, which causes me to lose the work that I was working on. When I plug it in to charge, it shows that it is at 47%. I checked the settings to see if maybe the battery settings were changed for when the battery reaches a certain point, but the settings were normal. This has happened multiple times, and it is quite frustrating.
please help

Hi:
If this problem only happens when on battery power, It sounds to me like you need to replace the battery.
Check if the battery charge is always at or near 47% when the notebook abruptly shuts down when not on battery power.
Then test and calibrate the battery:

What happens is there is probably one or two bad battery cells and when the notebook goes to use those, and they are dead, there is no electricity to keep the notebook on.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the battery part number/removal and replacement procedure.
