Hi,
For configuring my network devices (Dell 5340 Switch) I like to use a USB 0 modem to RS-232.
I ALso use putty to connect but my recently bought HP notebook don't have any COM ports.
I can't find them anymore in the devive mgt.
Any one an idea how to find/configure com ports?

No such port on new Consumer notebooks today. Nearly all business notebooks today do not have native COM port. I worked for many vendors before and they supplied USB-serial cable/adapter for their devices. The cables are similar to the following one:

I can't explain why but around 18 months ago (before my retirement) I used a cable from Thales but it did not work on Cisco devices, I has to use a cable from Cisco.
Regards.
