Hello community! I have question, my cooling fan is making noise and cracks, so I want to replace him, but can I replace just a fan and not all the cooling system with copper tube? Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, you can replace just the fan.  (search online with part number 840662-001)

example

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=840662-001&crid=1S5YRWIYX65SX&sprefix=840662-001%2Caps%2C221&ref=nb_sb_no...

You will need to remove the heatsink to replace the fan part. So you will need to replace the thermal material on the CPU. Clean off the old material with some alcohol. then use some quality thermal paste

Example

https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-MX-4-Compound-Micro-particles-Durability/dp/B0795DP124/ref=sr_1_3?crid...

On page 62 of service manual you can see the steps to remove the heatsink fan assemby

Hope it helps,

Hello! Yes, you can replace just the fan without needing to replace the entire cooling system with copper tubes. Simply replacing the fan should resolve the noise and cracks issue you're experiencing.
