Hello dear HP supporters. My laptop has the following specifications:

HP OMEN 17X
I7-7820HK
GTX1070 8GB
RAM 16GB

I am worried about the temperature of my system. It was recently serviced. The silicon paste was replaced. As soon as I enter the game, the CPU temperature reaches 80 degrees, but the GPU is 50 degrees. I can't play for an hour without any worries. This temperature is on the minimum settings. The truth is, I'm afraid to release the refresh rate to 120 frames because it will fly.😂

Please advise me. How much temperature can this device tolerate? Is it a durable device?
I also changed Windows.
I also turned off Turbo Boost. No change.

Is this temperature normal for this series of laptops?

I don't know anything about this laptop.

Please advise me once and for all.

Thank you for sharing the details and describing your experience so vividly. Based on what you’ve observed, your OMEN 17X is behaving within normal operating limits: a CPU temperature of around 80°C under gaming load is high but safe, while your GPU staying at 50°C is excellent. These laptops are designed to handle heat, and the warmth you feel through the keyboard and chassis is normal during gaming sessions.

Since you’ve already replaced the thermal paste, turned off Turbo Boost, and installed a fresh Windows, the current temperatures are likely just how this system performs under load. For extra comfort and lower temperatures, you could use a cooling pad, ensure vents are clear, and occasionally clean the fans from dust buildup.

Rest assured, your laptop is durable and built for extended gaming, and these temperatures are not harmful. You can continue enjoying your games without worry.

I hope this explanation helps! Please let me know if you need any further clarification or guidance.

I’m happy to assist.
