@samsrith, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Ctrl Keys on HP 14 Laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If the Ctrl keys on your HP 14 Laptop (30J32AV) are not working, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Restart Your Laptop:
- Sometimes, simply restarting your laptop can fix keyboard issues. Turn off your laptop, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Examine the Ctrl keys and the surrounding area for any physical damage or debris. If there is anything blocking the keys, gently clean them.
Update or Reinstall Keyboard Driver:
- An outdated or corrupted keyboard driver can cause keys to malfunction. To update or reinstall the driver:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards, right-click on your keyboard device, and select Update driver.
- If updating the driver doesn't work, you can try selecting Uninstall device and then restart your laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall the keyboard driver.
Check Keyboard Settings:
- Make sure the keyboard settings are correctly configured:
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Time & language > Language > Keyboard.
- Ensure that the correct keyboard layout is selected.
Perform a System Restore:
- If the issue started recently, you can try performing a system restore to revert your laptop to a previous state where the Ctrl keys were working:
- Type System Restore in the Windows search bar and select Create a restore point.
- Click on System Restore and follow the on-screen instructions.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
