HP Laptop 17-cn2068cl
Microsoft Windows 11

Turned in with F key screen and said it had a problem- something about not being able to find a driver.

Hit F1 and got the desktop and a message that said to go to:  HP.com/go/techcenter/PCDiags

typed this url into the address box and it took me to that page and clicked on Driver Support and it installed a program that them wants me to subscribe for service.

This computer was purchased less than 6 months ago so I am at a loss as to what is going on.   Can someone help?

F1 is just system information on most HP systems

Tap the ESC key after powering on. . Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.
Do not allow any updates if disk or memory fail, especially a BIOS update.

You should see an image like the following.

HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Expand the'+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.

If a component fails during the UEFI test then Click here to check warranty

Make sure you have the latest Microsoft Windows updates and have also run the HP support assistant to check for updates.

Bring up the windows device manager and look for errors

Let me know if you need more help as it is not clear what the problem is.
