HP Support 170418 disable Touchpad
Dear Sir/Madam, I have Model G60-230US, Serial no [removed]. The disable touchpad key is not working. The directions on pg 2-5 of Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC
HP G60 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide do not work.
I need to disable the touchpad when a mouse is connected. How can I do it?

This is the dirver for Windows 7 and your touchpad.
Perhaps it will help...

Dear Photoray002, when I access the Mouse properties settings, the touchpad is not there. In fact, I can't find it mentioned anywhere in the Control Panel.
The little disable indicator light switch works and changes color when you click it. But it has no effect. And the touchpad continues working whether the switch is on or off.
I just had a new hard drive installed. Then this problem started. I wonder if it has anything to do with installing the new hard drive?
I wonder if there is a touchpad driver absent.

Photoray002 190418 disable Touchpad Solution
Dear Photoray002, it worked! Now the touchpad switch works, so I don't need to disable the touchpad by disabling it. I can just switch it off.
I don't know about you, but I very seldom use the touchpad anyway, but use mouse most of the time. But when you accidentally touch it, your cursor goes off wildly.
Thanks, Job well done! JC
