docking station issue with 15-dy2000 laptop - this laptop is advertised to have a USB-C port and appears to have one next to it's HDMI port on the right side of the machine.
Advertised are several docking stations that claim - will work
Main Objective is to use more than 1 external monitors - I've tried two HP docking stations with total failure on display detection / usage - other aspects of the docking station work fine - i.e. network, other usb ports.
According to the manual the laptop does not support Display port - Requirement : - For USB-C® functionality, host PC must support the DisplayPort™ Alt mode protocol through its USB-C® port.
I've discovered even though a docking station has a HDMI the machine will not discover/detect any other monitor except from the host HDMI port located right side rear - docking station HDMI ports are not usable / not detected - as stated above DP ports on either of the docking stations I've tried fail.
If I am in error - please tell me which Docking station to purchase and what driver or else I would need to get it to work with more than , < 1 external monitor - i need at least two if not 3 monitors - or should i ditch this laptop and get something else that will work with the Docking station HP promotes?

Your machine could be one of the following machines
https://support.hp.com/ca-en/product/hp-laptop-pc-15-dy2000/35900328/model/38752859/product-info
For example
It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use
Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable
Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
https://www.amazon.com.au/CableCreation-Adapter-Windows-Compatible-2560x1440/dp/B013G4CJM8
For more connectivity, please use
True Universal Docking Stations
