Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, i recently bought HP pavilion power 15-cb013nw with gtx 1050 4 GB, and i want to buy and connect external 4k display. Can i run it with 60 hz? does it have hdmi 2.0? I know that all of the geforce 10 series cards support 4k and higher. Best regards.

It has a USB-C port that carries a DP 1.2 signal. If you just want to drive a single 4K display your best bet is a USB-C to DP adapter and connect the monitor via DP connection not HDMI. I outfitted my whole office 6 computers with 4K screens, some dual 4K screens and I can say DP connection for 4K is much more foolproof than HDMI although we have 4K displays connected by both.

Specs on the ports:

HDMI v2.0 supporting up to 4096×2160 @ 60Hz

USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C port (support data transfer, DisplayPort 1.2 out up to 4096×2304 (60Hz), HP Sleep & Charge)

Hello,

First i would like to know that hdmi port on "HP Pavilion 15-cc101na" is version 2.0 or 1.4, as i am using a hdmi cable to connect with my 4k monitor (Lenovo Thinkvision X1) and it only runs on 30 hz (3840 x 2160) . On 3840x2160 resolution only 2 options are visible 29p Hz and 30p Hz, so it is because of the hdmi cable might be version 1.4 or the port on laptop is version 1.4. I am not sure about the hdmi cable i have whether it is 2.0 or 1.4. I will buy hdmi 2.0 cable if the port supports it.

Secondly, Thinkvision x1 monitor supports 4k display with usb c so i bought the cable Usb C to C but it is not connecting the display instead it gives me a notification that "display connection might be limited" and opens a help page "fix USB-C Problems" .

So how can i use 4k display on 60hz with my laptop. Please provide all the possible solutions. Can i use USB-C to DP adapter? for this purpose or simply using hdmi 2.0 cable would be sufficient. Also my laptop does not have a DP port.

Thank you
