What is your hp pavilion 15 r7 horizon blue machine ? Many new thin machines now do not have RJ45 port. Your machine could be the same. My Surface machines do not have RJ45 port, I have to use USB adapter:

and I've got 2 more USB 3.0 ports. They sell 1, 2, 3... 7 port versions
