HP Notebook - 15-r262ne - core i7 5500u , 8gb ram , 1tb HDD , NVidia 820m.
Hello everyone,
I want to upgrade the performance of my laptop by adding SSD and keeping the old HDD at the same time.
I can remove the DVD driver and put the added SSD in its place, I searched about it and found that some laptop already have a dedicated slot or socket for SSD.
how to know if my laptop has the dedicated slot (SSD m.2 , SSD NVME) or it doesn't have one.
I searched a lot on in my laptop manuals and the HP website.
Is there any way to know without disassembling the device?
thank you.

Hi,
It does not have an M2 slot.
I would just replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD of your preferred brand and capacity.
If you do decide to keep the old drive and place it in a caddy in the DVD slot, you should place the hard drive in it and put the SSD where the Hard Drive was.
It will give a good boost to the everyday performance.
