i have hp elitebook 850 G2 i7 5th gen what i really wanna know if it does supports NVMe i'm so confused right now as all the things i have checked so far pointing that does.. but when i installed one it would not let my install the windows in it always stuck in the partition making point kindly help me out

Based on the information I could find, anyone that installed a M.2 NVMe SSD in that model was not able to get it to work.

HP lists one M.2 PCIe 2 x 2 drive in the parts list (chapter 3 of the service manual).

I would not recommend trying a NVMe SSD in your notebook.

alright but then why is there a slot for M.2 nvmE on the board like and further more is there any difference between M.sata and M.2 Sata if we compare speed.

All I can show you is the information I posted.

 

NVMe SSD's are up to 5x faster than SATA SSD's depending on the model specs.


Feel free to install a NVMe SSD in your notebook but don't blame me if it doesn't work because the odds of it working are against you.
