Hi @Evgeniya93,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop's touchpad!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Touchpad Enable/Disable Key:

  • Some laptops have a key on the keyboard or a button near the touchpad that can enable or disable the touchpad. Ensure it's turned on.

Function Keys:

  • Press the function key (Fn) combined with the touchpad toggle key, which is usually one of the F keys, such as F6 or F7, to ensure the touchpad is not disabled.

Device Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad. Ensure that the touchpad is enabled in the settings.

Driver Update:

  • Update the touchpad driver via the HP Support Assistant or download the latest drivers directly from HP's official website.

Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start menu.
  • Expand the Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click on the touchpad device, and select Update driver.
  • You can also try uninstalling the driver and restart your laptop; Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.

BIOS Settings:

  • Occasionally, the touchpad can be disabled in the BIOS. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS setup (usually by pressing Esc, F2, or F10 at startup). Ensure the touchpad is enabled.

Hardware Check:

  • If the above steps don't resolve the issue, there might be a hardware malfunction. It's advisable to contact HP Customer Support or visit a certified service center for further diagnostics.
