Is there anything (preventing / stopping) me from getting a Windows 10 Pro Key/Licence and installing it on my HP17 Windows 11 Home laptop (wiping out Windows 11 completely)?

When the Windows 7 laptop I was using stopped working, I bought a laptop locally (it is an HP17 with Windows 11 Home).  I have had the laptop too long to return it to the store.

Recently I bought a refurbished desktop computer with Windows 10 Pro: it is not a good as Windows 7, but it is much much better than Windows 11 in Windows functionality.

Please advise, Thanks

The only thing that you may run into difficulty with is if there are no W10 drivers on your PC's support page, you may have issues with some devices not working, such as not having audio, graphics, touchpad functions.

I do NOT really know the difference between 11 Home and Pro, but the early versions of windows added technical functionality to it.

You can compare the differences between W11 Home and W11 Pro at the link below:

If you decide to upgrade from W11 Home to W11 Pro, see this link below for how to upgrade from Home to Pro:

FWIW, Microsoft has ended support for W10 as of last month.
