During charging my hp laptop, the charging indicator glows to orange (which means it is charging)  and it starts to charge, after 5-6 min it changes to white colour (which means battery is fully charged, but actually it's not fully charged) and it stops to charge, then again after 5-6min it changes to orange and starts to charge. this cycle goes on , my laptop is going to complete its 3rd yesy  in feb 2019, please help me to solve this issue

Invoke the Windows battery-report to find out the state of the battery in its current and original condition.

yes i can log into windows even when my adapter is connected,

   following your method i observed that my battery capacity is 77.5% of the desing capacity and battery life estimates since os is installed is 00:54:52 less than desing capacity and also i have also done the windows diagonistic test ,which displays only one result "PASSED"

                                         i have also done the reset option ,but that didn`t work .so what should i do now
