Pavilion dv7-2270us
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

After gratuated from highschool, my father gave me his laptop to study. It's a HP Pavillion dv7-2270us.

The system is still running smoothly after years thanks to HP quality :D. And I really want to keep it.

Unfortunately, it is not enough RAM, CPU speed, display memory and storage for my to work. I have to deal with some heavy software such as Cartia, Solidworks, Matlab, etc. . Thus, I want to upgrade it to keep up with the current technology: SSD, Ram, etc.

Could you suggest what can I do to increase the speed of it. What type of SSD which is suitable should I buy? What kind of CPU which the BIOS can support?

Last but not least, I live in HoChiMinh City in Vietnam. Can I contact to HP support agency in here to do the upgrade or contact to the third company?

I'm looking forward to getting the reply from the forum.

Thank you to read my question!!

Hi,

Looked like your dad bought a cầm tay machine. It is an old machine, very old indeed. The following link shows its specs

      http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c01887272

All you can do is to upgrade

1. RAM: from 4GB to 8GB, check your local stores to buy right RAM and ask them to install to you.

2. HDD: it has fast HDD but if you wish you can swap to SSD.

If not so sure, you can contact HP Vietnam or few other big shops (I can't remember their names) can help you.

Congratulations and all the best for next steps of your life.

Regards.

Ok. Thanks for your support.

I think that i should show him what people say about his lovely gift. Maybe he will burst into tear when he see it... And change his mind for a brand new Zbook 😄

Con cảm ơn chú nhiều. Chúc chú thành công trong công việc nhá. Hy vọng 1 ngày nào đó con cũng sẽ đầu quân cho HP giống chú 😄
