What is the empty pci slot on left side of mobo?

Here is the Service Manual:

 

Manual 

 

By reference to the pages in the Manual can you tell us where is the slot you are asking about? I suspect the slot you are referring to may be the one for the mSATA mSSD on the hidden part of the motherboard. It is only referenced on p.3 at the top. See p. 90 for an image of the motherboard.

Need the full model number to look up the correct manual and see what the slot looks like and the specs of the laptop.
