Hello community,

I am about to purchase the indicated product, which looks very interesting overall (i7 8th gen, 16 gig RAM, GPU, full HD, etc.) and is presently sold at a very aggressive price here in Italy, but comes with a very small M.2 SSD, only 256 gigs.

I see two options:

- replace the M.2 SSD with a larger one

- add a 2.5" SATA III SSD, 512 gig or 1 TB (like e.g. an 860 EVO)

I would prefer the 2nd option, but I don't see mention on the online docs about availability of an internal HDD slot. All I can find is: http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c06358526.pdf

Can you please help?

Thank you very much,

Roberto

Hard drive brackets L19469-001

Hard drive cable L23889-001

Service Manual

Start on p. 34 and inside you see this after taking off rear cover:

M.2 = red oval HDD = green rectangleM.2 = red oval HDD = green rectangle

There is a place to put a 2.5 inch HDD or SSD but you will not receive the two parts listed at the beginning of the post, and you need them to mount and attach the disk.

These parts starting with "L" are very hard to find. We can help if you wish but you may be better off just getting a 1 TB M.2 SSD. It will wind up being cheaper in the long run.
