You're very welcome.

Yes, that is correct.

You can install a second PCIe 4 x 4 NVMe SSD in your notebook.

I recommend either the new Samsung 990 Pro or the previous model Samsung 980 Pro.

I would imagine you could go as high a 4 TB in either slot if you wanted to.

The Crucial SSD report for the model series indicates that they sell NVMe SSD's up to 4 TB.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

If it has one of the Intel 'HX' processors, the notebook has support for two M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD's.

If not then there is only support for one M.2 PCIe Gen 4.0 NVMe SSD.

thanks alot. my OMEN has the i5 13500hx processor with 512 gb of storage.

does that mean that i can add a 1 tb M.2 PCIe Gen 4.0 NVMe SSD? or could i only add another 512 gb?

and which NVMe Model would you recommend?

Thanks Alot!

Is the

Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD, 1TB, PCIe 4.0, 7450MB/s Read, 6900MB/s Write, Internal SSD for Gaming and Video Editing, Black, MZ-V9P1T0BW

A good choice for 100€?

Or should i buy the

Crucial T500 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 Internal Gaming SSD, up to 7300MB/s, Laptop and Desktop Compatible + 1 Month Adobe CC All Apps - CT1000T500SSD8

For 78€?

Is the price difference worth it?

You're very welcome.

I'd probably go with the less expensive Crucial SSD.

I believe it has the same 5-year warranty as the Samsung drive has, but the Samsung drive does have slightly faster read speeds.

The drives go inside thermal enclosures, so do not buy one that comes with a heat sink.

See chapter 5, page 37 of the service manual for an illustration of how the M.2 SSD gets installed.
