i had a black screen and it stated that there was no hard drive installed. i have completed diagnostic tests and have these codes:

system [E]   failed     PK7A7-97KA2G-XD7W3G-60QK03  hard drive 1

hard drive [Q]   failed     PK7A7H-97KA1R-XD7W3G-60U503  hard drive 1

hard drive [s]   warning  NA    NA   NA

can someone please advise what the codes mean. i'm guessing the hard drive is fried?

how do i fix this?

thanks in advance for your advice

Hi:

Those hard drive failure codes don't really tell you anything more that you have seen on the display.

The first code you posted is missing a character from the first group.

The hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After you replace the drive, you can reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook, by making a USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility..
