Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It seems like your OMEN Gaming Laptop is experiencing overheating issues due to the fan not functioning properly.
This is definitely not normal, as high temperatures can lead to performance issues and potential hardware damage.
Here are some steps you can take to address the problem:
Troubleshooting Steps:
Check for Dust and Debris:
- Turn off your laptop and unplug it.
- Use compressed air to clean the vents and fans to remove any dust buildup that might be obstructing airflow.
Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website and check for any BIOS updates or driver updates for your laptop model. Updating these can sometimes resolve fan-related issues.
Reset OMEN Gaming Hub:
- Uninstall and reinstall the OMEN Gaming Hub software. This can help reset fan control settings and ensure proper functionality.
Run Diagnostics:
- Use the built-in HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool to check for hardware issues. You can access this by restarting your laptop and pressing the F2 key repeatedly.
Cooling Pad:
- Consider using a cooling pad to help dissipate heat while you troubleshoot the fan issue.
