Hello, I have an HP ENVY 14-eb laptop, and when I use programs for the fans, I see that fan 2 isn't working and the computer gets very hot. The fans don't sound like they used to. What can I do?

Hi @Javi40,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Fan Issues on HP ENVY 14-eb Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check for Blockages:

  • Ensure that the vents and airflow paths are not obstructed by dust, debris, or other objects. Use compressed air to gently clean them if necessary.

Update BIOS and Drivers:

  • Make sure that your laptop’s BIOS and drivers are updated to the latest version. You can find updates on the HP Support website.

Use HP Diagnostics:

  • Run the HP Hardware Diagnostics to test the fan functionality. This tool can help identify hardware issues and guide you on further actions.

Assess Performance Settings:

  • Check your power and performance settings. Ensure that settings favor cooling over performance if the device is heating up excessively.

Perform a System Reset:

  • Sometimes, system resets can help restore fan functionality. Shut down the laptop, remove all peripherals, then power it back on after a few minutes.

I hope this helps.
