Does the HP EliteBook 840 G6 Notebook PC IDS Base Model have a fingerprint sensor? It appears that there is one located in the bottom right corner, but how can I confirm whether my PC has one that works? Please note that biometrics do not appear in Device Manager, and the fingerprint reset on reboot option does not show in the BIOS settings.

If there is no Biometric entry in the Device Manager, the little "sensor" is just a blank cover where the sensor would have been located. True - this type of "little square" looks the same from the outside whether the box is a cover plate or an actual sensor.
