I purchased a HP laptop a couple of months ago from Argos. It says I can upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 free. How do I do this please?
Please be kind as I am a non technic Granny 👵
I also think this laptop is extremely slow.
TIA

Hi, @Lindylou10 I highly suggest that you should be patient before upgrading to Windows 11. As much as it may be tempting to upgrade especially when you see that message from Microsoft some community members here are having challenges with drivers, hardware, and software when using Windows 11. So the best choice right now may be to be patient before doing an upgrade and just use Windows 10 till things are sorted out with Windows 11.

It would help if you identified your HP notebook.
If the support portal has Windows 11 drivers then upgrading should be a problem at all.
I would find out for you, but I don't know what your HP notebook's Product number is.

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key.
Type in msinfo32 and press enter.
The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.
An alternative method:
Take a look at the bottom of the notebook among the tiny letters and locate the ProdID.
The ProdID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.

If you would like to upgrade, it can be found within windows update. if you do not see a popup next to the check for updates button on the side or it says your PC cant run windows 11, then unfortunately you wont be able to upgrade, but dont worry, windows 10 is perfectly fine and there is no NEED to upgrade. I currently am running windows 11 with no issues, so i think that most of the issues have been resolved, so I don't see a reason to hold back.
