Here is the Service Manual:
The motherboard you have is compatible with all of the listed AMD processors and the highest and best is:
AMD Athlon II N370 processor (2.5 GHz, 1-MB L2 cache, 1066 MHz, 3.2 GT/s)-- dual-core 35 W 634686-001
However, be sure the CPU is really the issue. CPU failures happen, but infrequently. Often a motherboard problem will masquerade as a bad processor.
Good luck.

The only '5105' made by HP is a printer: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-5100-all-in-one-printer-series/89998/model/90006/d...
Please verify the part-number.
Then, access http://support.hp.com
Enter the part-number, and do a search.
Select your model.
Select "specifications".
You should be able to see documents that describe the specific part-number for the HP motherboard, and the specific processors that are compatible with that motherboard.
Unfortunately for you, most "notebook" motherboards are not designed for multiple processors.
Some motherboards have the processor SOLDERED in place, i.e., non-removable.

I knew exactly what model you meant and the processor is removeable and socketed. But your description of the problem to me says "motherboard" not processor. When the motherboard is bad, so is its ability to throw off accurate blink codes.
Good news is you can likely find a new motherboard (working used) on ebay very cheap if you are determined to resurrect it. And I would definitely get rid of that V-140 CPU regardless.
Post back if you want more help with that.

Yes precisely. I posted you a link to an ebay auction. It was more expensive than a couple others I found but I linked to the seller with the best feedback score. CPUs can be dicey on eBay so stick with a high feedback vendor. Try the processor and if it does not work we can find you a motherboard or maybe even a salvage unit with maybe a broken screen, missing hard drive, something that makes it cheap. This model is now in the realm of a hobby project not a current working laptop so nothing is expensive for it.

looks like you was right , i pulled it apart and one of the graphics cards appear to be covered in a brown liquid which has seemed to have seaped accross the motherboard. the proccesor and ram are actually ok though.
