hello

 

i hope someone can help me out here. i have a hp 17 inch screen 4CP68EA#ABU notebook. it has a 2gb DDR5 dedicated AMD Radeon R5 M425 onboard. can someone tell me why under the task manager i do not see any activity showing it working? I only see the Intel UHD Graphic 620 (GPU0) working as the percentage is going up and down on the graph but the AMD (GPU1) is not. If i play online games i do not see the GPU1 AMD showing it working. how can i get this to work with it being in my laptop and the price i paid for this pc too? its not right when you buy a laptop and it should have everything working. i await to hear from anyone. thank you

The HP Product Number you posted is not returning any results please check it again. Have you made any driver updates since the laptop was new? 

 

Can you do any of the adjustments mentioned in this article?

You do have to set specific apps to run with the dedicated video. The system wants to run the Intel video by default to save power and the dedicated is only functional for demanding video apps. Online games are running in a browser and you may not have the browser set to run on the dedicated chip.

how can i get my browser edge and chrome to use the dedicated card instead of the intel?

hi. yes i do have the control center app from AMD. i went into the switchable graphics, then to installed profile applications. i see chrome.exe is locked and its on power saving. whether or not i am on battery or plugged into the charger. any ideas to override this to the graphics card can work? I have 4gb ram currently installed from HP.
