Yes it can be fixed. We may just need to load Windows on it a different way.

Hey
I put the new hard drive in. And installed Windows 8.1
And reached ta step that I was given to same options.
Chose windows 8.1 volym 4 .
And after the it told me to take some thing out : D
And after that it was black and blue with some text
Saying
Selected boot image did not authenticated. Press enter to continue
????

That's what I was afraid of. Your restore disk is not going to work. We need to find another way to get Windows on it.
