Hi @SSK01

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

If your device shows a constant charging status even when the charger is unplugged, try the following steps to resolve the issue.

Power Cycle the Device:

  • Turn off the device.
  • Disconnect any attached peripherals and unplug the charger.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Restart your device and check if the issue persists.

Update BIOS:

  • Visit the official HP Support website to download and install the latest BIOS version for your device.

Check Battery Health:

  • Open the HP Support Assistant application on your device.
  • Navigate to "Troubleshooting and Fixes," then select "Check your battery" to run the HP Battery Check.

Reset the Battery:

  • For notebooks with removable batteries, remove the battery and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery and power on the device.

Check for Driver Updates:

  • Open Device Manager and find "Batteries."
  • Right-click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" and choose "Update Driver."

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
