Hi @OM84
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If your HDMI port on the HP Pavilion x360 14-ek1000 isn't working, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check the HDMI Cable and Port:
- Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the laptop and the external display.
- Test the HDMI cable with another device to confirm it's functioning properly.
- Inspect the HDMI port on your laptop for any visible damage or debris.
Select the Correct Input Source:
- On your external display (monitor or TV), make sure the correct HDMI input source is selected.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (press Windows + X and select Device Manager).
- Expand the Display Adapters section, right-click on your graphics card (e.g., Intel or NVIDIA), and select Update Driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software or download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.
Adjust Display Settings:
- Right-click on your desktop and select Display Settings.
- Scroll down to the Multiple Displays section and click Detect to identify the external display.
- If the display is detected but not working, try changing the display mode (e.g., Duplicate, Extend, or Second screen only).
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any pending updates, as they may include fixes for hardware compatibility issues.
Test in Safe Mode:
- Boot your laptop into Safe Mode and test the HDMI connection. If it works in Safe Mode, a third-party application or driver might be causing the issue.
Reset BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc or F10 during startup).
- Look for an option to reset BIOS settings to default and save the changes.
