Hi @alok123456

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how uncomfortable it feels when your laptop heats up quickly and the fan becomes noisy. You’ve already been attentive in noticing the symptoms, so let’s go through a clear set of steps to help reduce the heat and stabilize performance on your HP Laptop PC 15s‑du3000.

Steps to improve cooling and reduce fan noise

Check ventilation

  • Place the laptop on a hard, flat surface to allow airflow.
  • Avoid using it on soft surfaces like beds or couches, which block the vents.
  • Clean the air vents with compressed air to remove dust buildup.

Update BIOS and drivers

Check Windows power settings

  • Go to Control Panel → Power Options → Choose or customize a power plan.
  • Select Balanced instead of High Performance.
  • Under Advanced settings, set “Processor power management” minimum state to 5% and maximum to 100%.
This allows the CPU to idle when not under load.

Reduce background activity

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • End unnecessary applications and background processes that consume CPU and memory.
  • Disable startup programs that are not essential.

Keep the system updated

  • Run Windows Update to ensure the latest patches are installed.
  • Updated system files can improve efficiency and reduce overheating.

Use HP Hardware Diagnostics

Environmental factors

  • Ensure the room temperature is moderate.
  • If possible, use a cooling pad to assist airflow.

By cleaning the vents, adjusting power settings, updating BIOS and drivers, and reducing background load, the laptop should run cooler and the fan noise should settle down.
