Hello all,

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-15-ac100-notebook-pc-series/8499326/model/9112024/more-optio...

I am a newbe, great guess.   See, I knew this community was on the ball.

All I am tring to find out from HP and now the community is does this unti come with a fan and heat-sink?  Or, not?  Some nice person is now going to suguest I find the parts list for the unit?  I did and I also had a parts finder, both did have part numbers for the two devices.  Can I assume that would mean that they come with unit?

I have filled out some kind or warrenty claim, maybe. .  10-15 months ago.  Crazy?  Ok, I am not here to bash, let's just say I wan't Proactive enough, the blame falls on an old man that doesn't own a computer.  Off the Grid. . .

So I complain about the performance at the get do.l  Continue to call support for help.  Upgrade this, adjust that.  Still somethigs not right. It's always just after the warrenty ends.  lol  Say 13-14 months in, I take it to a local computer repair shop.  The guy oppens it up, and is looking at me.  I"m like what? Still looking. .

He asks where the fan was, had I removed it?  Heat-sink goes here, etc.  All French to me?

Never have heard from Support or anyone else.  I've written letters asking for a person, anyone other the some vertue box.  I just reached a support tech his name was Carlos.  After the hour and ahalf wait, he educates me on "the system is down for Maintanance"

One last note, may make a difference in your determanation is in what may have transpired.  (I oreder the replacment parts) - When the items went to be installed there was no place to plug the divice in.  I gave up, put in on top of a fan, drilled holes in the bottom and keep in clear of dust from the fan.  LMAO  It's true.  (New unit fro HP)

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Your model does not come with a fan and the heatsink is basically a thin piece of metal which covers part of the board. If you look on page 52 of service manual at the very bottom of page (the picture is cut) and on page 54 you can see your "heatsink". You have the 1.6GHz Intel Pentium N3700 Processor. Some low power computers come without fan and that is why the heatsink is so spread out, to try to dissipate extra heat from the surface.

So the answer to your question is you do not have a fan and there is a heat sink, but it has a diiferent shape than one might expect.
