hello
hope someone can help with my issue. i replaced my hinges in my hp 17-by0000na laptop recently. i keep seeing that the right hinge screw keeps slacking off and causing the screen/lid to fall back over. and not holding itself up. i have had to get a new top housing ordered due to the right hinge becoming so tight it cracked the housing.
my question is this. is there any way of stop the hinges loosening every other day to where i keep having to open it to fix this issue. this laptop is becoming a nightmare and was great when i first got it. any help is very much appreciated. thanks
regards

Hi@MrThunderStorm,
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Apologies for all the inconvenience
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue, your computer needs to be serviced. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.
I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

hi thanks for your reply there. my laptop is out of warranty. in fact hp could not find the last repair of the replacing the top housing and keyboard. i told the guy on the phone that the repair centre had broke off a screw in the rear lid of the screen and made it to where i would not hear a raddle sound. i only noticed this when i replaced the hinges. now these hinges i have installed are not holding the lid up and on a angle. it flops back over from view. i wish i can sort the screw issue out or find OEM hinges that will fix this nightmare.
