There is a laptop hp pavilion gaming 15 c 5 3550h and 1650 8 gb 2400 frequency, immediately with a laptop I bought him an 8 GB RAM add-on with 2666, inserting 12 GB of memory and a frequency of 2400 into the laptop, if I buy another die with 2666, will it display 2666? and how do I find out what maximum RAM frequency the laptop supports, I was thinking of updating the RAM, if possible, then 3200

Hi @alinuhov00

No, you can never go to a higher frequency than the one supported by the processor which is 2400, setting any frequency higher than 2400 has no effect, the memory BUS reduces the frequency to be compatible with the processor.

I have one 8 GB die with a 2666 frequency in my laptop, I installed RAM with a frequency of 2400 and my laptop did not turn on.

the memory is probably corrupted or you are combining memories with XMP profile. see here your model

no, the 2400 memory that I took was new, and the laptop didn't start with it, when I bought the 2666 laptop, it worked.

I do not understand what changes you have made, this laptop is already sold with 8 GB  (4+4) of ram 2400, the processor uses that frequency and that frequency can never be exceeded.

I first bought him 2400 8 GB, so that the total was 12, he did not turn on, and then I bought 2666, and everything worked, but the laptop did not see 2666, 2400 worked.

as I explained you can not go to a frequency 2666 ever, not the sample can use it but the memory BUS decreases the frequency to 2400 which is what the processor supports, you can never go to a frequency higher than that supported by the processor that is why there is the memory BUS that decreases the frequency,
