We have had a couple other reports. 5:30 is about the best report I have seen and is very strong battery life. 14:30 is a pipe dream.

thanks for the information i believe that's very unethical and unprofessional of HP..

i specifically bought this laptop because of this and i thought that at the very least it will give 10hours with websurfing and normal use...but with normal use and websurfing with hp optimized settings i get 5:30 and with multimedia it hardly gives 3:30 or at best 4:00 these figures are not any where near what hp advertised

they should stop this false advertising which is misguiding the buyers

i also want to know if its okay to have 95% full charge capacity of new laptop i checked it from hp support assistant which showed full charge capacity is just 95% i think it should be 99 or 98% atleast what's your say on this?

All laptop makers do it (make wild battery life claims). If the top charge is 95% you need to calibrate the battery. You may also need to test it. If it tests bad HP will replace it under warranty. There is a battery test in the HP Support Assistant and also the UEFI diagnostices. Tap esc as you power up then F2 then component tests and find the battery test.

i think you did'nt get my point...laptop is charging fully to 100% but when i checked battery health from hp support assistant battery check option in advanced tab i found out that it was showing 96% as full charge capacity instead of 100% which is designed capacity

when it was brand new and cycle count was 8 or 7 out of 1000 it showed 97% full charge capacity so i did calibration like how hp recommends but after calibration battery full charge capacity dropped to 95% from 97%...since then it fluctuate between 96% to 97% i check it almost daily and charge laptop from 40% to 80 %...

i want to know that is it normal that a new laptop battery's full charge capacity is 97 or 96% and not 100%?is there any guarante that if i claim warranty they will replace it with the  1 which will show 100% full charge capacity or will they even pass my warranty claim?

HP Recommended
HP will not replace the battery under warranty unless you have an error code on it. I do not work for HP. This is a volunteer user to user Forum. So I can't speak for HP just tell you what would likely happen if you try to claim warranty. The charge capacity will drop 1 -3% per month, so in 3 years you are down to like 30-50%.
