Hi @MahenderSudha,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you want to turn on the keyboard backlight on your HP laptop, follow these steps:
How to Turn On the Keyboard Backlight
- Locate the Backlight Key:
- Look for a key with a keyboard icon with light rays (usually F5, F4, or F11).
- On some models, you may need to press Fn + [Backlight Key].
- Toggle the Backlight:
- Press the Backlight Key once to turn it on.
- Press again to adjust brightness (if supported).
- If nothing happens, try Fn + Backlight Key.
- Check BIOS Settings (if not working):
- Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
- Go to System Configuration > Action Keys Mode and ensure it's Enabled.
- Also check Built-in Device Options > Backlit Keyboard Timeout and set it to your preference.
- Confirm Your Laptop Supports Backlit Keyboard:
- Not all HP laptops have this feature.
- To check:
- Go to Official HP® Support.
- Enter your laptop model number and check the Specifications.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
